We hope to make it as easy as possible for you to determine whether HCA is a good fit for you and the needs of your family. The process is simple: get to know us, give us a visit, and help us get to know you. If HCA is the school for you, then the last step is to formally commit to a partnership with each other in your child’s education. You can read more below about the steps to admission at HCA.
The Admissions Process
Get to Know HCA
Take a look at the the school’s Mission, Vision, Philosophy of Education, and Statement of Faith, all of which can be found in the Parent & Student Handbook. Parents are expected to affirm and agree to uphold these statements as part of the Parent-School Agreement which is part of the new student application.
Visit the School
Open House: We hold Open House every November, January, and April. Sign up to attend the next Pre-K Open House here or the next K-8 Open House here. If you missed a recent one or the next one isn’t for a while, read below.
Schedule a Visit: If Open House falls at an inconvenient time for you, we encourage you to schedule a tour of the school at another time, Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 2 PM. Contact us to schedule a tour.
Shadow a Student: We encourage parents to consider scheduling a day for their child to shadow his or her peers for half the school day. This is a great way to introduce your child to HCA and let them get a feel for what it would be like to attend. Please contact as to schedule a student shadow day.
We have an Online Application. Families that are unable to complete an online application at home may come to the school and use a designated computer for filling out the online application. If necessary, paper applications are available on request.
The non-refundable Application Fee is $40. You may pay by debit/credit card at the end of the online application. Or, if necessary, you may pay with a check or money order made out to “Holmesburg Christian Academy.” You will not be able to submit your application until all applicable fees have been received, unless you have settled an alternative payment arrangement with school administration.
This only applies to K-8: We will contact you to arrange for a time for your child to be tested for academic placement. This exam is simply to evaluate your child’s readiness for the grade he or she is applying to enter. The non-refundable Academic Placement Testing Fee is $60 and must be paid at the same time as the Application Fee.
We will also schedule a time for your family to interview with our Administrative leadership. This may be at the same time your child is taking the Entrance Exam. Fourth through eighth grade students will also be interviewed separately from parents. The interview is simply a time for us to get to know our prospective students and their parents. It’s also an opportunity for you to speak directly to the Head of School and ask any questions you may have. We will contact you to arrange for an interview.
Once all the above is completed, you will wait to receive notice (by mail or email) of the Admissions Team’s decision regarding your child’s acceptance and further details on preparing to attend HCA.
This only applies to K-8: Once your child has been admitted to attend HCA, you will need to complete the new student registration forms, agree to the financial commitments of attending HCA, and pay the $150 new student registration deposit. This deposit is non-refundable. Once the deposit is paid, your child’s spot in his or her class is reserved until your first tuition payment is due.
